Massage therapy Week

Which massage is best for you? Swedish? Expect long, gentle, soothing strokes- for general relaxation, good for improved circulation. The therapist will use her hands and fingertips and not push too hard. How about a Deep Tissue? Therapists target muscles and tendons just under the skin and the deeper ones by using more pressure from her fingertips. Trigger Point Therapy (Myotherapy), is great for specific areas of the body that are tense-knots in your shoulder or other muscles that are tense. Therapist might use knuckles or elbow to press into the knot to release the tension. (One of my personal favorites:) Hot Stone massage - Hot stones are used on the body, the heat increases blood flow to the muscles more than other kinds of massage.
Most studies show that massage can reduce anxiety, blood pressure and heart rate. Decreasing stress increases your immune cells, lowering these is likely to cause your stress level to drop.
