Can we really stop aging?

There are many products on the shelves today that boast they can stop, diminish or reduce the aging process. From moisturizers to chemical peels, there's something for every skin type and disorder.
Much of what your see, the surface skin such as dryness and lines comes as a result of exposure to the sun, photodamage. I guess most people feel invincible when they are younger and therefore don't heed good advise about slathering on sunscreen everyday, not just when you're going to the beach or pool.
Unfortunately for fair skinned people, the lighter your complexion the worse the damage is likely to be.
From age spots and spidery veins to your body shape, aging doesn't make life easy for anyone. And most of this is just aesthetic, or superficial, cosmetic appearance. What goes on inside the body, as it ages, i.e., how you treat it over the years, is another topic.
Women's skin comes from the hormone estrogen. As women get older their estrogen levels fall and studies have shown that the loss of estrogen can cause dryness, shrinking and fine wrinkles.
Smoking is another culprit for poor skin. Not only does it cause fine lines and wrinkles it robs the skin of nutrients such as elastin.
