Glamping

It's becoming more mainstream. Glamping - luxury camping or glamourous camping. Glamping is for those who want to spend time outdoors, but with luxury amenities, like a real bed and not a rolled up blanket on pine needles.
One hide-away can be found on a private island, off the coast of Georgia, Eagle Island (www.privateislandsofgeorgia.com). Definitely a five-moon glamping experience. Arrive by boat and you are the only human inhabitants on the island.  Experience the call of the wild as you sit by the campfire, rock in a hammock, fish off the dock or birdwatch from your front porch. Your accommodations are more than comfortable in a beautiful, handmade log cabin, two stories with a wraparound porch, indoor fireplace and a spa on the first deck (outside). There's even a beautiful, double-shower under the staircase, outdoors. Have an oyster boil, grill your fresh catch and relax under the stars. You must bring your own food in with you (for additional fee, food can be catered to your remote island getaway, low country boil, etc.).

Ever wish you were Tarzan or Jane? Want to spend the night in a treehouse? Then you want to head north, to Quebec. Experience Earth-Sea-Sky-River and more at Parc Aventures Capjaseux Fjord du Saguenay.  (www.capjaseux.com). Enjoy a beautiful view of the fjord from your own treehouse, approximately 75 meters above ground. When the wind blows, the tree rocks you to sleep. There is no electricity, or plumbing in the treehouse, however you will have a bed, chair, table, battery-operated lamp and a porch with a spectacular view. You have to hike a little ways up a hill to get to the tree where the tree house is built, not for the faint at heart.
